Elyse Jacobs

Elyse Jacobs is a classically trained soprano, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance. She channels her love of music into her writing, transforming classic operas—particularly tragic ones—into contemporary romantic comedies, in which none of the main characters die and everyone has a chance at a Happily Ever After.

Since her diagnosis of high frequency hearing loss several years ago, she has become an outspoken advocate of aural health, especially for her fellow musicians, and often sings the praises of her hearing aids. When she is not writing opera romcoms or attending choir practice, she enjoys reading, painting, knitting, rewatching Star Trek, and spoiling her equally vocal orange cat, Lazarus.
